Arc 3: On Schedule

Well, I'm about a fourth of the way through the nominal 20 strips for Arc 3.. I'm digging it. It's an adaptation of a short story I wrote (never finished) and I'm rather proud of how it's turning out. I think Keith will hate me though; there's some demanding art it will need.. like right off the bat.

Something that's interesting about it is how I depart from the main characters. They're in the Arc, but not till about 10 strips in. (Well David's in there from about 3 onward). We aren't following them, we're following a side character, whom may or may not ever show up again. I kinda like splitting up who we're following across different Arcs. Just wait till Arc 4....

Well, back to working on it.

The Talk; Edited

Well, I just edited "The Talk". I think this version flows better. Check it out in the side bar.

Merry X-Mas

Well, I know I'd had some goals for this christmas, but I missed them. I'm fine with that. I've been working very hard for my job, and I've been planning some hard work for the comic. I'm pretty excited about were it's going, and what Keith will be doing with it. So things are looking up there.

That being said, I just wrote about 2k words in the last hour. My fingers are now getting cold thanks to the 50 degrees my parents keep their house, but meh. It works. So, yeah, I think I'm gunna warm my fingers, and then do some more writing, and finish off this chapter. (2300 words left till I hit 7k, which is my per chapter goal.)

I've been thinking about posting chapter 1 and 2 for people to read. I might, I might not. I need to think about this.

New Job, Short Stories, Delays

Well, I've started a new job that prevents me from having the kind of free time I would like to finish the Chapters in a timely manner. That's ok; I can work around it. I hope. It will Delay things, however.

Still, I've found time to use some of the burning creativity in my brain to write a short story. Here is the link, enjoy. (It is also being added to the sidebar of the blog.)

I rather enjoy this one, even if it is only a single page. It says everything that I think needs to be said.

Outline! W00t!

Well, I've now got little white happy pills, and as a sort of placebo effect, I've got the energy to start the outline for the 7th Game. Here it is:

Now, it's not complete, but it's complete enough I can finish Chapter 3, and starts Chapter 4 with some idea of where I'm going. Isn't this great?

So... about that chapter...

What did I say? I'd do some more writing today? Would I say something like that? Ooops. Well, in all honesty, I've decided some of the chapter needs to go away so I can start from a non cancerous portion of the chapter, and move forward. I've been thinking about starting again, but I've been too busy trying to do some programming, and applying to jobs to actually write. And, I won't be able to write tomorrow. At least, not much. I have a Doctor's Appointment, and with luck, I'll be getting myself some nice happy pills, which will let me work better. *crosses fingers*. So, yeah, Chapter 4 by Friday, I think not. *sigh*

Writer's Block: The Curse of the... oh, wait...

Bleh. Nothing's getting done tonight. Writer's block like a... ...um... SEE?!!!!!! Yeah, going to bed now.

Conundrum: To Outline, or Not to Outline

I'm rather a bit hung up on if I should outline my novel or not. You see, I know what's going to happen in my head, and I think that I *should* out line it... but I don't like outlines. I don't like having to write outlines. That's where *most* of the issue is. Why should I outline, if I know where it's going to go? Then, by the same token, do I really know where it's going to go until I get it out of my head and onto paper? Hmm... The Plot thickens.

...wait, The Plot is pudding? Gah, now I'm hungry.

Cough, Hack, Weeze, Death.

So, the plan was for me to finish Chapter 3 today. (After I went to church with my family.) Ah, well, guess what? I didn't go to church because I was dead. D. E. A. D. I've been fighting being sick for a while now, and it just hit me like a metric ton of bricks. Ah, wonderful bricks.

So, where do I stand in my 'Ten Chapters by X-mas plan'? (Which, this being my first post on my new blog means you don't know about that plan... HA! Now you do!) Well, I've finished 1 and 2. If I can finish 3 in the next day or so, I can get 4 done before I got back to Fredonia. If I can do that, then I'm sure I'll be able to finish 10 by Dec. 25th. It would be a huge accomplishment for me. We'll see if I can do that.

Anyway, it's time for me to go work on Chapter 3 some more. I might not sleep. Sleeping is evil. Writing is good. We like writing.
